Inherit a Blessing

If you are in a difficult season and find that there are difficult relationships in your life, even difficulties with “acquaintances,” turn and strengthen your relationship with Christ, read his word…When you obey Him, regardless of the treatment of others or their words, HE will “silence the talk,” and He promises, “you will inherit a blessing.”

The most significant relationship in this life…is our relationship with Christ! The good news is…if that relationship is the most important…then you will have the power, the direction, the courage to navigate all other relationships. God’s voice has to be the “solo” you listen to and follow daily/hourly.

You have heard it said, “the more people the more problems” LOL…this is because …ALL PEOPLE…are sinners in need of a Savior. Even those of us who have Jesus as Lord of our lives and are surrendered to Him, still battle and often give way to our flesh and evil desires which cause major problems in our relationships.

When we follow Christ and read His word because it is the very best way to know His will and learn HIs directives and example in relationships…..we learn things like, “do not repay evil for evil or insult with insult, repay evil for blessing, because to this YOU WERE CALLED so that you may inherit a blessing.” 1Peter 3:9 and things like 1Peter 3:17, “For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.” Yes! We are to do good, Scripture also teaches, “For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people.”

In all relationships in life, there will be great ones and one’s that are challenging…one’s in which we are to pray blessings over them when they are cursing us…If you reread the above scripture it says for Christians…that YOU/WE WERE CALLED to do this…when you read this it is easy to glaze over, “the called” part…but realize sometimes the difficulties in relationships are a call on our lives as believers so that we can emulate our Savior and thus inherit blessings.
