Hidden Things

Have you ever been in a situation where you didn’t know what to do? You needed to know things that seemed impossible to know…like the intentions of other people…and you were unsure of which way to turn. Or you needed to make decisions and you were at a loss as to what to do?

Take courage. God will show you……. but know this: to know God’s voice and to understand what He shows you…you need to know Him. You need to recognize His voice and understand and seek His guidance….and FOLLOW HIM.

God is not a God who plays games of hide and seek. Nor does He desire to make you guess. IF you are a Christian, you know He is all-knowing. He is omnipotent…and the most comforting thing is….He knows the “hearts of people!” He knows our hearts and the hearts of others.

Many times in Scripture we see that God knew what people were thinking. He knew whether a person’s intent was good or bad.

*Matthew 9:4, “And Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, ‘Why are you thinking evil in your hearts?'”
*Matthew 12:25, “And knowing their thoughts He said to them, ‘Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and any city or house divided against itself shall not stand.'”
*Luke 9:47, “But Jesus, KNOWING what they were thinking in their heart, took a child and stood him by His side” [emphasis added].

We also learn in Proverbs 16:1-5, “To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the proper answer of the tongue. All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but MOTIVES are weighed by the Lord. Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. The Lord works out everything to its proper end—–even the wicked for a day of disaster. The Lord detests all the proud of heart. Be sure of this. They will not go unpunished.”

Just from these few verses, and there are many others in Scripture, we see that God KNOWS us and our thoughts! If you are struggling with WHAT to do…about any given situation….Seek the Lord…commit whatever you are doing to HIM. As the Scripture above tells us…HE WILL ESTABLISH YOUR PLANS.

There are some things that we need to do as we seek the Lord and His direction. We can pray as the psalmist David prayed in Psalm139:23, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; TRY me and know my anxious thoughts.” And Psalm 26:2, “Examine me, O lord and try me; Test my mind and my heart.”

When seeking the Lord we need to have a pure heart and allow Him to show us what may need to change. It is at that point that God can reveal His direction and plan for me/you. It is not up to us to judge the motives of others. God knows. If we follow him and listen to HIM….we can know…”HE’s got this!”

Our job is to seek…listen and follow.

Then when you experience a “coincidence,” you will know it is God. He reveals all things in His time.

“Our heavenly Father understands our disappointments, suffering, pain, fear and doubt. He is always there to encourage our hearts and help us understand that HE is sufficient for all our needs. When I accepted this as an absolute truth in my life, I found that my worrying stopped.” ~Charles Stanley
